Montreal, February 3, 2021 – Immediately following two virtual reality familiarization tours launched & organized during the week of January 18, 2021, the Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) took another step forward in the effort to promote the province of Quebec’s audiovisual industry to American studios. This time the spotlight is on the visual effects and post-production sectors.
From February 2 to 5, 2021, the QFTC is organizing an online visual effects & post-production trade mission. Eight companies from the province of Quebec are participating in meetings with American studios including Disney, Hulu, MRC, CBS, Apple to name a few.
In collaboration with Investissement Québec International (IQI), the QFTC worked with the Quebec company B2B/2GO to create a customized online platform dedicated to business meetings and networking which reflects the limitations of the current pandemic context.
Several round tables and one-on-one meetings are planned for the participating Quebec companies: A.A. Studios, Cinesite, Difuze, Hybride, Kaibou, MELS, Rodeo FX and Studios Saint-Antoine. This will be an opportunity to remind potential American clients of the province’s assets in the visual effects and post-production sectors.
“The QFTC is very pleased to launch our virtual VFX & post-production trade mission in early 2021! The goal of this mission is to send a strong and clear message to Los Angeles. Despite the pandemic, companies in these sectors have adjusted quickly to the current context and are able to safely work on phenomenal quantities of contracts. Quebec offers some of the best companies in the world and creative talent in addition to competitive tax credits. This mission will be an opportunity to further solidify our strategic positioning in one of our most important markets. Thank you to our eight participating Quebec companies, Investissement Québec International, the DQLA and B2B/2GO for the creation of the online platform for this mission!” Chanelle Routhier, Film & Television Commissioner, Province of Quebec
