The Union des artistes (UDA) is a professional union representing artists across multiple disciplines, including both performers and creators, working in French or any other language—except in productions made and performed in English and primarily intended for an English-speaking audience, in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada. Negotiating minimum working conditions and remuneration for its members is at the core of its activities. Committed to the well-being of children working in its fields of competence, the UDA develops all necessary tools to ensure respect for their rights regarding education, moral, physical, economic, and fiscal health.The sectors under the UDA’s jurisdiction include, among others: Advertising, Opera singing, Film and television, Dance, Recording and music videos, Dubbing and audiobooks, Commissioned works (corporate), Theatre and musical theatre, Variety shows, Video games. Organized into four groups of artistic roles—actors, hosts, singers, and dancers—UDA member artists include, for example: variety performers, actors, choristers, stunt coordinators, voice actors, circus artists, adapters, directors, puppeteers, comedians, and choreographers.

Nord-du-Québec is the largest administrative region in Quebec, covering 55% of the total area of the province with its 839,000 square kilometres that include 121,000 square kilometres of lakes and rivers.
