Tribute Gala – a tribute to Roland Emmerich

MEET US MARCH 10TH AT 8:00 P.M.

Last year, on March 12th, following public health recommendations, the QFTC Board of Directors decided to postpone our benefit gala, a tribute to Roland Emmerich. In view of the current circumstances, it still seems impossible for us to offer you a physical event. We have therefore decided to offer you a new online event.

The benefit gala, a tribute to Roland Emmerich, will take place on March 10th at 8:00 p.m. live on the LiveStorm platform.

The funds raised will be used to support the QFTC’s mission, as well as to promote our industry in Quebec and internationally. The Council ensures that our strategic positioning will be maintained and continually ensures that our region remains competitive and attractive to producers of films and television series who choose to shoot in Quebec..

The theme of the evening will be a tribute to the internationally renowned director, producer and screenwriter Roland Emmerich. Roland Emmerich has shot the majority of his most recent films in Montreal, including Midway, but also The Day After Tomorrow and White House Down. The sci-fi epic Moonfall, his next major film, was shot here during the fall, with filming concluding at the end of January. Roland Emmerich and his production company Centropolis Entertainment independently produced and financed Moonfall, overseeing all aspects of production, financing, delivery, and distribution and marketing in collaboration with Lionsgate, AGC Studios, and the film’s distribution partners around the world, including major partner Huayi Brothers in China.

We would like to stress that the production was carried out with the greatest respect for the health regulations issued by the Government of Quebec. We would like to sincerely thank Roland Emmerich and his production company, Centropolis Entertainment, for their loyalty and for their confidence in our artists and artisans.

8:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.: Official speeches with, in particular, Mr. Pierre Fitzgibbon, Minister of Economy and Innovation, Mr. Jean Boulet, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity and Ms. Nathalie Roy, Minister of Culture and Communications, .

8:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: A video tribute to the work of Roland Emmerich will precede the interview, which will be carried out by Brendan Kelly, journalist at The Montreal Gazette and Taste Test Dude on CBC radio.

9:00 p.m. – 9:20 p.m.: Questions from guests to Roland Emmerich

9:20 p.m.: The QFTC in pictures, and some surprises that we have in store for you!
